Here is a little help on interiors by Sy Miller

The most important part of an interior when we are talking about end result is the insulation and underpinnings below the carpet and upholstery.
Sound deadener materials are somewhat expensive but make a huge difference. We manufacture a poured floor filler kit for the 1953-55 and 56 Ford F-100 truck. It is actually poured and molded for each indentation and self adhesive is added to the back. I realize this is going a little far from perfection but this stuff fills the indentations on the floor perfectly and makes a flat smooth surface to work with. The builder then should cover the entire surface with insulation. We offer pre-cut kits for this as well as the rolls to cut yourself.

A couple of cautions here would be:
Always use HI-temp adhesive, remember that regular upholstery adhesive releases at about 160 degrees, that's just a spring day here in AZ.
Second is that a lot of insulation rolls available on the market show it used in the doors, DO NOT put insulation with any kind of fiber or jute type materials inside the doors. Water will, and does, get inside doors and soon becomes a smelly mess. Instead I suggest self-adhesive sound
deadener in strips inside the door on the door skin.

The next step: A nice carpet, we even have double thick plush carpet which is super luxurious. When choosing colors we ask that you first get samples and then have, no offense meant here, us, or one of your other favorite ladies, check your choices to see that the colors are compatible. Often men do not perceive the subtle differences in grays for instance and what should be a beautiful interior is just not quite right.

Seats and Seat Covers, there are complete seats already covered available and a huge variety of used seats from donor vehicles. Truck cabs are a little cramped so use caution before you fall in love with a super plush every-which-way seat. The more plush you have become the less plush a seat you have room for. Some trucks have gas tanks in the cab, (that's another story about relocating gas tanks!) The trend now is to remove the tank from the cab for more room and less headaches. The leather look seems to be very popular now and new just this year, "leatherette" vinyl's that are super soft and match the more popular leather colors. We have seat upholstery kits for stock bench seats and they are surprisingly easy to install. They are completely sewn and only need stretched over the seat, after replacing any damaged foam, and secured underneath with supplied hog rings. The finished product is custom and professional.
